Passport Photo Size in Pixels for Online Forms (2026)
A 35 x 45 mm photo is 413 x 531 pixels at 300 DPI or 827 x 1063 at 600 DPI. A 2 x 2 inch photo is 600 x 600 at 300 DPI. The US visa form takes 600 x 600 to 1200 x 1200 under 240 KB, and the UK online form needs at least 600 x 750.
Millimetres to pixels
Pixels depend on resolution. At 300 DPI, which is standard print quality, 1 inch is 300 pixels and 1 mm is about 11.8 pixels. At 600 DPI everything doubles.
So a 35 x 45 mm photo is 413 x 531 pixels at 300 DPI and 827 x 1063 pixels at 600 DPI. A 2 x 2 inch photo is 600 x 600 at 300 DPI and 1200 x 1200 at 600 DPI.
Common online form sizes
US visa (DS 160): a square JPEG from 600 x 600 to 1200 x 1200 pixels, 240 KB or less.
UK passport online: at least 600 x 750 pixels.
China visa online: about 354 x 472 to 420 x 560 pixels.
Other forms list their own limits, often a minimum size and a maximum file size in KB. Always follow the numbers on the form you are filling in.
What SleekCut saves
The Passport Photo Maker saves 35 x 45 mm photos at 827 x 1063 pixels, US passport photos at 1200 x 1200 and US visa photos at 600 x 600. These are sharp enough to print and small enough for most forms.
Hitting a file size limit
If a form rejects the file for being too large, run it through Compress Image and lower the quality until the file is under the limit. JPEG at 80 to 90% quality is usually well under 240 KB for a 600 x 600 photo.
If a form asks for exact pixels that differ from the download, use Resize Image with the same shape so the face is not stretched.
Do not upscale small photos
A tiny, blurry photo stretched up to the required size will still look soft and may be rejected. Start from a sharp photo taken with the main phone camera in good light.
