AI studio

Upscale images 2x or 4x with on-device AI

Turn a small, soft image into a larger, crisper one. The AI adds real detail instead of just stretching pixels, and you can compare before and after with a slider.

Made possible by open source: inpaint-web, Real-ESRGAN and ONNX Runtime Web. See all credits.

How it works

How to use Image Upscaler

  1. 01

Drop a small or blurry image.

  2. 02

    Choose 2x or 4x.

  3. 03

Wait while the AI rebuilds the detail, compare, then download.

Detail, not just pixels

Ordinary resizing makes images bigger and blurrier. The AI model was trained to rebuild edges and textures, so text, faces and products look sharper at the new size.

Runs on your graphics chip

On browsers with WebGPU the model runs on your graphics chip for speed. Everywhere else it still works on the CPU, just a little slower.

Great for

Old photos, small product images, screenshots, artwork for print, thumbnails and images saved from chats that lost their quality.

Up to about 16 megapixels, for example 4096 by 4096, which keeps it working on phones too.

How long does it take?

A few seconds to a minute depending on the image size and your device. A progress bar shows how far along it is.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser, so your photo never leaves your device.
