How to Make a Circle Profile Picture With a Border
Crop the photo to a circle with the face centred, add a border ring if you like, and save it as a PNG so the corners stay transparent. Start from a square photo at least 400 pixels wide so it stays sharp.
Why circles
Most apps show profile pictures as circles, so cropping your own circle first lets you decide exactly what is visible. A circle PNG with a transparent background is also handy for email signatures, websites, slides and team pages.
Make it with SleekCut
1. Open Circle Crop and drop your photo.
2. Drag and zoom so your face sits in the middle of the circle with a little space above the head.
3. Add a border and pick its colour to make the picture stand out.
4. Keep the background Transparent, or switch to White for apps that do not support transparency, and download.
Rounded corners and squares
Not every place wants a circle. Choose Rounded for app icons, cards and thumbnails, or Square with a border for a framed look. The Rounded Corners page opens with that shape ready.
Tips for a great profile picture
Use a photo with soft light on your face and a simple background. Remove a messy background first with Remove Background, then circle crop the cutout on a colour you like.
Profile pictures are shown small, so a close crop of the face reads better than a full body shot.
Size and format
Save PNG to keep the transparent corners. Most platforms recommend at least 400 x 400 pixels; if your photo is small, run it through the Image Upscaler first.
