How to Make WhatsApp Stickers From Your Photos
Cut the subject out of a photo, add a white outline and save a 512 x 512 WebP with a transparent background. Then add it through WhatsApp’s own sticker creator or a sticker maker app. A pack needs at least three stickers.
What a WhatsApp sticker needs
Static WhatsApp stickers are square images of 512 x 512 pixels in WebP format with a transparent background, and each file should stay under about 100 KB. A small margin around the subject keeps it from touching the edges.
A white outline is not required, but it makes stickers readable on both light and dark chat backgrounds, which is why most popular stickers have one.
Pick the right photo
Choose a sharp photo where the subject is clearly separated from the background and not cut off at the edges. Funny expressions, pets mid jump and dramatic poses make the best stickers.
Crop out other people first if you only want one person, or erase them with the Object Remover.
Make the sticker with SleekCut
1. Open the Sticker Maker and drop your photo. Choose Person for selfies or Pet or object for everything else.
2. The subject is cut out and placed on a transparent 512 x 512 canvas with a white outline.
3. Adjust the outline width and colour, and turn the soft shadow on or off.
4. Download the WebP. If your browser cannot make WebP files, you get a PNG instead, which sticker apps accept too.
Add it to WhatsApp
Recent versions of WhatsApp let you create stickers from images inside the sticker panel; choose your downloaded file. For full packs, sticker maker apps import WebP or PNG files and publish them to WhatsApp. Packs need at least three stickers.
Make a matching set
Use the same outline width and colour for every sticker in a pack so they look like a set. A bold coloured outline in your favourite colour gives a pack its own style.
Be kind with other people’s photos
Only turn photos of friends into stickers if they are happy with it, and avoid using photos of strangers or children without permission.
